Real-Life Story by Clayton Faulconer
Morning Walks
5 days a week, I try to wake up in the morning, have a coffee with milk and sweetener and burn calories by walking and jogging prior to eating breakfast.
On Jan 6, 2022, I woke up and walked for 3.85 km before eating breakfast. It was raining/snowing in the Vancouver BC area which is uncommon, but this did not stop me. I was wet, cold and my feet were damp. I knew I could warm up when I got home and determination overpowered the fear! Ugggh — push push!!

Staying In A Lower Weight Class For Arm Wrestling
I love doing this for myself because when training or exercising for arm wrestling competitions, I can keep fit and stay in a lower weightclass.
It should be mentioned that I also carry a hand-grip strengthener and I use it while I walk. I do this because having a strong hand grip is important to being a champion. Actually, it is one of the many components of being a champion, but it all the little pieces put together that make up the big picture.
I have about a half-dozen that I can choose from and carry in my pocket — here is the one I had today.

Keeping Lean & Fit
Staying in a lower weight class for arm wrestling is crucially important. The reality is, the bigger guys are the strongest and I feel that if I am going to compete, I need to be as strong and light as possible.
My goal is to get down into the next lower weight-class which will increase my chances of having the result of a winning and successful match. In competition, you are generally strong at the beginning of the day and as the matches continue throughout the day, you inevitably lose your stamina and strength. This can be mitigated by working out and having good cardio-endurance, increasing your stamina.
